For a long time now, I've been trying to compile my Grandma Cramer's recipes into a family cookbook. Anyone who has attempted such a project knows that the end is never in sight. One more recipe can always be found, font tweaked, mistake made . . . you get the picture. I'd like to finish while we're all still alive—including Grandma—but until then, I thought I'd post a recipe here on occasion.
There's a moment from my childhood that's a favorite with some of the adults in my family—particularly Grandma—that is brought up whenever strawberry jam makes the table (which is often): At a family dinner all the adults were involved in their adult conversations leaving toddler me blissfully forgotten at the table. I was remembered when I exclaimed "Oh, Grandma, this is good!" (or something to that effect) whilst spooning the heavenly red nectar that is Grandma's homemade strawberry jam into my mouth. I have never tasted another strawberry jam quite as good nor with the same consistency as hers.
This is a recipe I have coveted. I have asked twice for said recipe and both times she has said, "Oh it's so easy! The recipe's right there on the back of the Certo box." I have a hard time believing that the glorious substance I've slathered on countless dinner rolls could be found on the back of a box. And I must admit that I haven't tried it yet. But here is the link to the CERTO Strawberry Freezer Jam recipe in case she's telling the truth.

UPDATE (8/31/15): I made it. It tastes just like Grandma's. My life is now complete.
