Faith and "the Church" are inseparable from my family's culture. Good or bad, religion has always permeated our extended family get-togethers. My dad's a pastor, both grandfathers are retired ministers, one of my uncles isn't a pastor . . . you get the picture. I had often thought that this was just a fairly recent family "thing", but as I unearth and learn about more of my ancestors, the Reverend title pops up everywhere.
Of course I'm going to make this into a regular (regular as in 'those Sundays when I feel like it') blog feature! In future Sacred Sunday blog posts, I'll be highlighting the churches, Reverends, historical movements, holy days, and religious documents that have helped shape my Family.
